Temerloh cluster mentors Jimmy Ma and Martina Gilmartin's running club raised $94,600 RM during their educational charity drive. This money was donated to local school: SKJC Yeow Cheng Luan. 100% of the donations came directly from club members themselves.

Pictured below are Jimmy and Martina with their running club: Temerloh Hash House Harriers and Harriettes and the result of their fundraising efforts.

Martina Gilmartin helped her teacher, Pn Rosnani in SK Abu Bakar with her lesson on clothing and recycling. The students turned old newspapers into "clothes" and had fun creating their own designs. The newspapers were then placed in the recycling bin in order to learn about recycling and reusing materials.

This July 12, the Temerloh Rotary International organization had a dinner inaugurating their new president: Chew Seiko.

The mentors in Temerloh (Jimmy and Martina) have been working with the Rotary Club's educational program since 2013, offering their services as mentors for the program. This year, they were joined by Maran mentors Sarah and Tom.

Being a mentor in Malaysia has many duties. Most of them are centered around education (such as mentoring, co-teaching, providing workshops, etc). However, some of the duties of mentors include community outreach and becoming part of their new communities. These duties are aimed at helping the foreign mentor adjust to and enjoy living in Malaysia.

Some of our mentors from Temerloh (Jimmy Ma and Martina Gilmartin) and Maran (Tom James and Sarah Higgs) spent this weekend doing some community outreach with their community this weekend.

These four mentors joined the Temerloh Hash House Harriers and Harriets organization in an inter-Pahang meeting in the Cameron Highlands. The event took place at SJKC Brinchang in the Cameron Highlands. This gave our mentors the opportunity to get closer with their community, visit one of Malaysia's most scenic and historic areas, as well as visit another school.

As you can see from the pictures, the mentors were able to meet a lot of people and had a great time!

On our way to the Cameron Highlands, we made a stop here just outside of Raub. It's durian season in Malaysia. Can you spot the durian in this tree?

Here is a panorama shot of the hills of the Cameron Highlands.

Jimmy is taking a picture with several members of the Cameron Highlands community. Without their dedicated work, this even would not be possible.
